When triggered, a routine will automatically run a set of desired actions in your smart home.

Here are some examples of how you can automate your home using the available routine triggers:

  • When I arrive home*

    • Create a routine that will turn on your entryway lights, set your kitchen dimmer to 70%, and turn on your lamp’s outlet when you walk into an empty home.

*This trigger is only available if your property installed a door sensor and motion-detecting device in your entryway.

  • When I leave home*

    • Set your lights to turn off and your heat to drop to 65 degrees when you open your door and turn off your entryway switch on your way out.

*This trigger is only available if your property installed a door sensor and a smart switch within arm's reach of your front door.

  • When a device is controlled

    • Create a bedtime routine that will turn off all of your other smart devices if your bedroom light is switched off between 9:00 PM-11:00 PM every night.

  • When a time of day occurs

    • Create a “Movie Night” routine that will automatically run your “Movie Time” scene at 8:00 PM every Sunday.

  • When a sensor detects activity*

    • Create an alert routine that will send email and/or notifications when motion is detected in your home during your normal work hours.

*This trigger is only available if your property installed a door sensor and/or motion-detecting device in your entryway.
