The brains of the operation | The IOTAS hub is what syncs your home's smart devices. As long as your unit's hub is online, it will relay your commands from the app to your home's smart devices and vice versa. |
Depending on your property, your apartment will include some combination of non-smart switches, smart switches, and smart dimmers. Smart switches and dimmers look the same on the wall. In the app, though, dimmers will have a special popup menu to allow you to gradually dim or raise lights. Movie night? "Alexa, dim the living room lights". | Switches that really light up a room |
Outlets to get amped up about | Depending on your apartment community, your home will have some combination of smart and non-smart outlets. The smart outlets will be distinguishable by a small blue light that glows when the outlet is on. Can't remember if you unplugged your hair straightener? Open the IOTAS app and turn off your bathroom outlet from anywhere in the world. |
You might notice a motion and/or door sensor mounted near your front door. You can check whether your door is opened or there's motion in your home by tapping on the sensor icon in the IOTAS app. Or, you can use the sensors to trigger day-to-day behaviors in your home using routines. For example, set your lights to turn on when you walk in from work. If your property installed leak sensors under water fixtures in your home (bathroom, sinks, etc.) you'll be notified if a leak has been detected. | No nonsense sensors |
Thermostats that bring the heat | If your property has chosen to install smart thermostats, you'll be able to monitor and change the temperature in your home from anywhere in the world. Cold snap got you down? Turn up your heat on your way home and walk into a cozy refuge from the cold. |
If your property decided to install smart locks, you can monitor, lock, and unlock your front door from the IOTAS app. Did your cat sitter forget his spare key? Just a few taps in our app and your little furbaby will be enjoying her evening meal in no time. | Locks you'll a-door |
